oh_what_am_I_doing Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Does anyone have any interesting summer vacation stories they'd like to share? Perhaps a "you are not going to believe what my SO did" story? My vacation starts tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have something good to post
JPMorgan Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Well, my husband peed off the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and thought that was pretty special!
Author oh_what_am_I_doing Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 Well JP, I must admit that I actually laughed out loud when I read your post. It reminds me of a few weeks ago when my boyfriend's grandma told me that her husband stood up on the observation deck of this state park on New Years Eve and spelled his name in the snow, if you know what I mean!
Blackfrost Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Last summer I backpacked across northern cambodia solo (except for a native khmere guide) for 5 weeks of life in the jungle. The stories from that journey could fill a book. This year I'm spending a few weeks on a tiny little island in the middle of the pacific ocean, called Rarotonga Next year I'm either going to see Petra in Jordan, or explore the Tepuis of the Northern Venezuelan Highlands - depends of which is the least dangerous at that point in time. I live to travel - travel and exploration make me feel more alive then anything else
bunnygrl07 Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 My boyfriend and I went to the beach for a weekend and of course went to the boardwalk. We went to one of those cheesy T-shirt huts and he bought me a shirt. It says "I go from 0 to horney in 2.5 beers". The joke is...I don't drink beer. P.S. JP, that little green thing is disturbing but cute at the same time. Very strange.
FataMorgana Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 how exciting! Holiday time is always the best, especially when you go away and discover new things. What have you got planned, before we all tell you all our holiday experiences? I live to travel - travel and exploration make me feel more alive then anything else funny, that's the way I feel about it as well. ..Blackfrost I feel like you keep beating me by about a day or so with some posts... must be the time difference I'm so bad I count my past years by where my last travel destination was...oh, 1998...yes I was in.... Your trip around cambodia sounds great, would love to hear more about it. I am planning a trip in Vietnam sometime in future (my next 5 year plan), but my South America trip just got delayed until next year now, cause I just bought a new car this week. Anyway emabarassing holiday story for me, a few years back I did a trip around Italy following Michelangelo's life and art. In this museum in Florence I lean over and (whatever was in my mind then can't tell, obviously not to much) try to touch the particular sculpture I was near, which is one of my favourites. In the middle of all alarms going on and security guards appearing out of nowhere, my SO was thinking ...... I can't believe she did that! We managed to get away safely and I've been reminded of this story many times since.
