I recently had a date with a Canadian citizen. She was born in China and moved to Canada in her early teens. She is now working in the

United States and navigating the process to become a US Citizen.

The date was tense and awkward till I made her laugh. She said she was tired of Canada because the people there had never invented anything. "they bring nothing to the table" was the expression she used. I volunteered that they had invented the clear hockey puck. After a few moments delay, she laughed so hard she was crying. We hit it off. We have another date next week.

I'd like to have some facts on hand about the things Canadians have invented. I don't intend to debate her too much, but I would like to give her a better understanding of our Northern neighbors. They're an educated enough people, they have to have invented something.

Please list some items that they've invented.

Thank You

The Canada not inventing anything joke is now finished. It won't be funny again.

What part of Canada?

My wife is Canadian but of Chinese ancestery. She is first generation. The location in Canada means a bit. Toronto and Vancouver are very cosmopolitan awith many different cultures. Other parts of Canada are more homogeneous. As a person who is obviously not from there it can be tiring.

I went to visit my wife’s family in China. They lived in rural China. Think Kentucky rural. I was the first white guy many of these people had seen. I can’t twll you how many pictures I had taken. People would walk up and stick their camera in my face and just snap a picture. Gave me great perspective with what people go through when the immigrate.

Nobody said Canadian Bacon.

You guys have proved her point :( . I would've defended our affable Northern neighbors if it was easier to do so. I'd probably get more points with her by agreeing with her views anyway.

She's educated and hard working. She'll find what she is looking for here. That includes me hopefully.

Here is your list of Canadian inventions

Next time you meet her about you ask her about China's 95% natural resources being polluted beyond repair or China's human rights, or the China Student massacre in 1989 (killed by government), should be interesting.

China Canada Date

And here I was clicking on the title thinking that China went on a date with Canada. Is disappoint. :(

"Canada, the country which was congenial and accommodating enough to let me immigrate there when my own country couldn't afford my family the opportunities we wanted, brings nothing to the table and isn't good enough for me because of some meaningless circumstantial BS. I seek an American who can't be bothered to do his own Googling."

You don't have to take this, Canada, you deserve better.

OP, in all honesty, she sounds pretty spoiled and unappreciative. I'd be pretty turned off. I wouldn't go out with her again, but that's just me. Has she invented anything herself?
