ily2 Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 I've been seeing a guy since October and at first I thought things were perfect. About a month and a half in he started to pull away, he said it was due to his parents divorcing which he found understandably hard. After a while though things went back to normal. After our last date though the texts became shorter and he didnt seem so keen but we still spoke most days. We havent spoke since New years day when he stopped replying to my texts mid conversation. I'm tempted to text him and ask why hes stopped talking to me but I don't know if this is a good idea. I'm obviously aware that he doesnt want to date me anymore but its driving me mad not knowing why.
SunnySide0418 Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 I would text him once and ask what happened.v he could have told you instead of just disappearing no matter what is going on in his life. What a wuss.
d0nnivain Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 I suppose reaching out one more time couldn't hurt but I'm not holding out much hope. I'd send something like Hey haven't heard from you in a while. Hope everything is OK. Would you like to get together on [day] to do [activity]? If he doesn't respond, give up. 1
olivetree Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 I totally understand wanting closure. But I think a guy that does the slow fade after months of dating is pretty cowardly and not likely to tell you the truth. I think in this case you should decide that you deserve better and cut him off. If you do reach out, you have to accept that he might not respond or his answer might leave you with more questions.
CollegeKid101 Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 He's not interested, but texting him can't really hurt. I'd let him go and focus on other guys!
Author ily2 Posted January 10, 2018 Author Posted January 10, 2018 Well I messaged him and he pointed out that we had both stopped talking. Which was annoying as he was the one who stopped texting mid conversation and the last few times we spoke it was me who initiated it. Then he said how he was shy which he definitely is not? I think it was a bad joke but it made it seem as if he was poking fun at me. Won’t be bothering with him again. 1
