rov
Hi everybody, I was dating a bipolar type 1 girl during 1 month, she was going pretty fast with me, introduced me with her familiy after 3 weeks of dating, etc. She called daily, sent tons of messages and now she is acting cold and doesn´t even text me since the last 3 days. Any tips with bipolar girls?, did I dodged a bullet?
Interstellar
Yes, you dodged a bullet. Don’t count anything these babes say or do to you until she gets passed 12 dates with no red flags.
carhill
Caught you in the mania, then the flip. Pretty normal.
python23
Yea, stay away from bipolar, usually they’re just narcissistic idiots who are mentally unstable, stay away and ignore her. Date someone who’s got their head in a stable place
RecentChange
You can't expect stable and predictable behavior from an instable and unpredictable person. I agree, you caught her in a mania up swing. Is her mental illness being treated?
alphamale
if she wasn't on medications then, yes, you did dodge a bullet
Clockwork
Yes you dodged a bullet. I don't know if my ex was clinically bi-polar, but she was on anti-depressants, was suicidal, actually attempted suicide more than once in front of me and had mood swings that were up and down more than any roller coaster I've ever ridden. Consider yourself lucky. The deeper you get in the relationship the more these types of women will become possessive. It will only get worse. You aren't married to her, you did not promise to keep her "in sickness and in health". Run, while you can.
Author rov
This caught me off guard because three days ago everything was normal, she was making plans in the future for us. Then, two days later she ceases all contact and stops sending texts and today I contacted her and said hi on whatsapp and she acts distant and dry so I stopped responding and do not plan to contact her again. wtf with this? Iseult
wtf with this? The answer is in the thread title.
Miss Spider
A lot of people who are not dx with bipolar do this too. They call it lovebombing. But maybe she was manic and now she is in a depression. I'd feel bad for her if her bipolar disorder is not being properly treated.
Zippy2000
I have a friend who is bipolar. I don't think this is her being by bipolar. I just think she doesn't fancy you. Shes not that into that's all.
