Linus Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I'm between relationships and wondering about the next... so I'm curious: How did you meet your current boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse? Were you introduced? Do you work together? Was it more random--did you literally meet on the street? I met mine through a class. Well, that relationship is history now, and I can only guess about the next... Please post away, I'd be interested to see the variety of responses.
Pyro Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I don't have a current significant other, but I will post anyways. I have had two real relationships in my life and both I had met through friends. To me, that is the best way to go. Friends wouldn't set you up for a disaster.

Pyro Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 You are right about that one. Nothing like a good debate from all of the other LS'ers Well, so far from my personal experience, it's been smooth sailing.
noname Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 met through a mutual friend that is so crazy, we didn't want to meet each other. she was trying to set us up for two years and a half years and we were both reluctant for fear that we would meet another nut. finally, on the same night, we both let down our guards and decided, "what the hell?". and that's all she wrote...

RecordProducer Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Originally posted by The Riddler Friends wouldn't set you up for a disaster. Unless they think you're a disaster too! I met my BF on a dating site last September. We talked for a couple of weeks on the phone and viewed each other's web camera. Then he flew all the way from the US just to meet me. And we fell in love. He visited me four times in total so far.

ThumbingMyWay Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 highschool sweetheats.....but the sweetness doesnt last forever...it takes ALOT of work...
bhsunny21 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I met my newest relationship through an online dating site, as well as a couple in the past. Considering that the few I met online who are not around anymore, I don't know if I would say it works! However, I have also had the extended high school sweetheart (we dated throughout high school and a couple years after), the boyfriend I met in a night club and one I met in one of my college courses. My friends always say you meet someone when you are not looking for it. I think this is very true! So, keep an open mind and an open heart and maybe the person standing next to you in the produce section of the grocery store could be your next successful relationship!
JS17 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I'm not dating anyone now but I met the first love and love of my life at sleep away camp. I was 14 though. If I ever could see myself with someone I dated again he would be it Other than that....high school reunion, friend of my friend's brother, online, at a bar, set up by my grandmother's sister ( ), hmmm what else? there must be others
crazy_grl Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I've met most of my bfs at school. After college (and after I broke up w/ my bf from college), I was sort of seeing a guy I used to work with (not seeing him at the time we worked together). And while I don't currently have a bf, I recently met a guy at my friend's company picnic who has bf potential.
Blackfrost Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I met my wife who was sitting next to me with her friend at my favorite sushi bar while I was hammered on saki, and feeling down on myself due to the last few dates I had been on with some really emotinally scary women hahaha
Art_Critic Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I met my Ex wife around the corner from my company.. She owns the convenience store/gas station.. I first saw her while I was buying gas.. I knew I had to meet her and knowing that she would rebuff me because I'm a customer I created a little thing.. Every morning at 5:00 am I would go into her store and buy a chocolate milk and milky way bar for breakfast. After about a month of this I switched Chocolate bars and she noticed and commented on it.. It was history after that.. At our wedding The toast was done with chocolate milk and milky ways were on every table in buckets for the guests.. We divorced after 5 years and that was 4 years ago.. Goes to show ya it doesn't really matter how ya meet..
MWC_LifeBeginsAt40 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I met my exH at work. He worked nights and we met at the Xmas party. Prior to that my boyfriends were usually met through friends (one long-term 5yrs) Since my separation I have met all my dates online....and I'd really like to get out of that habit.
