Meet-up your still strangers and really don't hardly know each other enough to consider dating yet.
Sammichmaker
How did you blow the chance? Meet up - and if it goes well, then talk about considering it a date from the beginning next time around.

Honestly, is there a difference? or is it same? haha Why did you say it is not a date? Surely the whole point of dating is to go on dates. What did you think a date was, and why did you say it wasn't one? Generally:- Date - I am interested in you romantically. Meet up - I primarily want to be just friends. guest569
I think that is fine, I would see it as a low key, relaxed date with no expectations. A lot of people see a first date as a "first meet" to see if there is chemistry first.
d0nnivain
Generally people consider the 1st time they meet somebody off OLD to be a meet up. Usually it's a quick, low pressure, cheap face to face in a fairly well lit place -- "let's meet for coffee." A date is more romantic. Technically speaking a date & a meet up are the same thing. Parlance & common usage try to forge a distinction where one doesn't exist. Your problem is that you verbalized it which comes across as insulting. Everybody knows that the 1st meet off OLD is an audition but to actually say so makes it too clear that you are keeping your options open. Going forward just keep your mouth shut on the subject.
