Author CptInsano Posted November 25, 2017 Author Posted November 25, 2017 Just a quick update. I think it was just a one-time quirk. I went to see parts of her family at Thanksgiving, and while it may take a while to get used to, they are just a bit unconventional but by no means crazy. So far, so good. 4
joseb Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Breaking into song for 3 mins on a phone call like that is mighty weird. Though i like a bit weird. Meeting the family already?
Chilli Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Man l'd love to have a women that can sing, she could sing to me anytime she likes. Can't wait to hear about some more phone calls. ps , was there a message in the song btw. ?
Author CptInsano Posted November 26, 2017 Author Posted November 26, 2017 No, there was no particular message in the song, I guess she was just happy. But I agree with Chilli that a woman's voice can make quite a difference. I knew somebody who I hadn't really paid much attention to until I heard her sing Schubert's "Ave Maria" at a wedding, and I saw her in a completely different light after that. Well, the family was bugging her, so I was a good sport and the +1 for the Thanksgiving party. It helped that she is from a city I like, anyhow. 1
LivingWaterPlease Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 (edited) Next time you see her, how about asking her something like, "When we were talking on the phone the other day you sang, 'Old MacDonald Had a Farm.' Does that song have some kind of meaning for you or were you just feeling like singing at the moment?" She may feel flattered that you noticed (lol) and that she has the opportunity to expound on her rendition! So, it may give you more of a window into how her mind works. I'd definitely ask about it, with great interest! However, another poster wrote that you should have harmonized! Lol'd on that one, but wouldn't it be hilarious to, if she does this again, when she finishes, have your own song ready and follow up with three or four minutes of it! The thought of it is hilarious to me! Almost like something that would happen on one of those old cartoons from the fifties. Edited November 26, 2017 by LivingWaterPlease 1
spiderowl Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Well I know quite a few singers and can't imagine any of them doing that. Wait, yes I can, but the ones who would are narcissistic show-offs who would do that and expect to be admired. They would also not care how the other person felt because they are that type of person. I see it as rather odd and a bit of a red flag to be honest.
smackie9 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I would say it might be an anxiety and she did it to calm herself down like one poster mentioned.
Chilli Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Oh yeah , it's odd as fk , but l love it. l'm sticking around for the next song. My daughter sings , just thought l'd mention it , proud dado and all yaknow.
Highndry Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 It's a bit odd since she didn't preface it by saying "do you mind if I sing a song?" or something. She does sound happy which is good.
LivingWaterPlease Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Any updates on the songbird, CptInsano?
Chilli Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Yeahhh, same , just dropped back to see what's happening.
Author CptInsano Posted December 1, 2017 Author Posted December 1, 2017 We're still seeing each other, things are going well. No other outbursts or odd behavior. She can be quite enthusiastic and affectionate, but no breaking out into song and dance. 3
