CptInsano Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 So, things are going well enough to follow up with a call, and she seems happy and very talkative. Suddenly and without any previous discussion she starts singing some kind of folk song. So I listen patiently for 3-4 minutes, wondering what is going on. Then I just compliment her voice and the call continues like nothing happened. Things seem to go well overall. It's just a harmless quirk, right ... right? 2
Kamille Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 You could have tried to harmonize . There's quirky and then there's "doesn't pay attention to social cues". She sang for 3-4 minutes??? Have you met this woman yet? 7
Author CptInsano Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 So mid conversation she just starts singing? Yes, indeed. There was a brief pause, I was about to say something and the singing started.

But singing on the phone was a bit strange. Possibly another call is in order to make sure this doesn't turn in La La Land. It just never happened to me before. Edited November 6, 2017 by CptInsano 2
NuevoYorko Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Was the song pertinent to your conversation at all?
Author CptInsano Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 Was the song pertinent to your conversation at all? No, I think she was just happy and felt like singing. The more I think about it the more it seems right to just go on and see what develops. Really nothing more than a slightly weird moment. 2

This is way better than someone who starts singing to you because of unrequited love. Way better...
GemmaUK Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Well that's a new one! I would have found that pretty awkward I think. Did she display any signs of having a stammer/stutter on the call? I'm just wondering if maybe signing calms her voice maybe. Or, she might just like bursting into song, of course. It does seem quite odd to sing a whole song on a phone call though. 1
ShyLove Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 You could have tried to harmonize . This literally made me LOL:laugh: 2
jay1983 Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 That's a little too awkward. I mean, singing a line or two, then explaining what she was singing, but she just kept going? That's a little too weird for me. Medication or lack of it. 4

My best guess is that she was happy and did the first thing that came to mind. Or, she might just like bursting into song, of course. It does seem quite odd to sing a whole song on a phone call though. It's kinda of odd just to sit there and listen to somebody sing. And she continued the conversation afterward like nothing happened, just thanked me for my compliment. 1
Author CptInsano Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 Yes! I want to know more about this woman. She works in an accounting department of a large corporation and is into indie rock, which is why we started a conversation. To be perfectly honest, I really don't know her all that well yet. I have to admire someone who is so happy that she will just start singing. There are surely worse things that can happen on a phone call! 3

Hmm that means she was in a good mood with you. Singing and being happy brings out the best positive energy in a person. That's her thing to sing. Shouldn't worry about it at all. It's better than having them yell at you. LOL 2
todreaminblue Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 lol that is funny...smilin.... i admire a person who can break out in song and not give a crap....3 to 4 minutescould however be the stretch of my humor...i have broken out in song in conversation its normally one line though and has something to do with the conversation....and i dont have to be happy to do that what makes me happy is when the person i am talking to recognizes the line and sings the next with me.... i think it would be hard to handle if this was a constant thing as it could make you feel that what you are talking about is unimportant.....i will say she must be comfortable with you to just be herself and that my friend....is a beautiful way to feel with another....deb 1

LadybugLucy Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Perhaps she was nervous and singing calmed her down? Or if she does it again ask what prompted the serenading. 1
NuevoYorko Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Yes! I want to know more about this woman. I have to admire someone who is so happy that she will just start singing. I think I'd love it.
Space Ritual Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Dude! Why are you even worried about that? I'd have given my left nut to find someone in my life that would be so happy with me they would break into song out of the blue. You stand on the precipice of delights you may have only dreamed about with this one. Kind of like when Jerry was dating the Romanian Gymnast on Seinfeld Press forward.

Author CptInsano Posted November 7, 2017 Author Posted November 7, 2017 I know she doesn't even drink, so I highly doubt she was stoned. We shall see, I should have a better idea by this weekend. 4
