Ex GF of 5 years, went no contact for 2 months then low contact for a few weeks but then I decided that enough was enough. I couldn't keep myself from stalking her stuff and being sad so I decided that now was the moment I was stopping caring about her. Oddly enough, she contacts me minutes later I realized that. She sent me a picture of her in her new halloween costume and wanted to know my thoughts.

I told her "What happens in your life is none of my business now. Get the **** out of my life."

I met a new girl who has been very very kind with me. A total sweetheart. She is interested in me and I'm interested in her too. Problem is that she lives far away from me. I'm planning to let her move in with me for a month to see if we can be compatible together. She is really interested in me and has been a great support in copping from my ex gf.

When your ex girlfriend or boyfriend throws you breadcrumbs, don't reply to them. Why? Cause they DON'T CARE about how you feel. All they want is a little bit of validation, they want to know if you're still weak and ready to crawl back to them.

Be strong.

Replying to her isn’t rejecting her breadcrumbs. How is she even able to send you pics?

I would have worded it differently (please do not contact me anymore, I am not interested in ever talking to you again) if I was choosing to break no contact, but I think I would have just deleted and not even responded. It seems like blocking her is the best option for you.

I like silence. It hurts more.

lol, that was a bold response.

I agree silence is more hurtful but that can be draining for some people to maintain. I've been giving my ex a Silence Sandwich for almost 18 months. I know that is upsetting her the most but in some ways I feel like being able to vent like the OP has done can be pretty therapeutic :)

Most Ex's in the past, I entertained at least a minor dialogue and moved past those reasonably well.

But this most recent Ex, I've decided that silence is all she deserves. But I do think when your dishing out silence for a very long time, that can actually retard your healing in some ways. It all depends on the person I guess.

hcedrick -- brilliant. I think your analysis of the situation and your response was spot on correct. Well done.
