Lexxi Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 So I think I might want to start trying OLD. Met a few guys many years ago online but they were not dating sites so I’m not sure what to expect. I keep hearing about Bumble and Tinder, Coffee Meets Bagel... but as I try to download them, I’m asked to log into FB. And I don’t have a FB account. Any good ones out there that won’t require it and are free? How is OKC? And POF is out of the question, just found my ex- husband’s profile on there and don’t want him running across mine Thanks!

Or you sure you have to use Facebook? There are a lot of websites (even non-dating ones) that give you the option of "signing in with Facebook," but that doesn't mean you have to. You can create accounts independent of FB..... I'm not sure about the apps you've mentioned since I've never used them, but....are you sure??

Yes, unfortunately Bumble, Tinder and Coffee and Bagel all require FB accounts for authentication purposes.
Miss Spider Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 Okcupid and POF are the only other free ones I can think of right off the jump. It takes a couple seconds to make a facebook with an email address. you can leave it blank. Just make sure you have your first name right and your age. 1

I stand corrected! I hope that doesn't mean these apps give out your first and last name to potential suitors.
EthanSPK Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 IMO, OkCupid is the best by far. Got some good matches there, and didn't have to deal with the obnoxious shallow people you'll find mostly on Tinder.
kendahke Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 I was going to join Bumble before I saw they wanted Facebook. I was going to just open a separate Facebook account from my main one and not populate it with personal information. Just a picture and a message that this account is only for authentication purposes for Bumble and for no other purpose.

I'm going to do the same thing with and make a profile just for Bumble. If you do that should you use a fake name for facebook?
