finalf72 Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 hi, ive been lookin for work forever. whenever i get interviewed they are like "oh, well call you in a week" and they never do... wtf? am i doing someting wrong? oh heres another question, does it mattter what im wearing when filling out a application? or does it only matter what i wear at interview time?
MWC_LifeBeginsAt40 Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 If you even think it matters how you look when you apply for a job, then pay attention to your appearance. Every person you speak to, look them in the eye and if introduced, repeat their name when (firmly) shaking their hand. Aso, quit waiting for them to call you and pick up the phone and call them to make sure they haven't forgotten about you or overlooked you. A few more tips: Make sure you write neatly and legibly and don't make spelling mistakes. I know alot of places who automatically file these in the garbage can. Then they have their short pile, and they keep the applications of the ones who call them to follow up. Just be overall more aggressive in letting them know you WANT the job the most.
