On Saturday there was a do at my sports club, friends and family of everyone there and it was a great night.

I got talking to one of my team mates sisters, we've known each other as acquaintances for a while and spent most of the evening chatting, a few people subtly dropping hints and trying to play Cupid.

Anyway, we ended up walking down to where we live, about half a mile away from each other just chatting for ages, even stopping in a bench and talking before we went our separate ways.

But I froze when I should've asked for her number. Tired, tipsy and I completely bottled it. Asked a friend for advice the evening after and he said I was an idiot. But that I should still go for it, but as i didn't know the next time I'd see her i decided on Monday To drop her a message over Facebook asking if she wanted to go for a drink sometime - I've dated a girl after chatting to her in person and messaging her on there before so what's to lose... well my sanity.

48 hours on and the message hasn't been read. Fair enough had it been read, I'd have got my answer but now I'm in limbo. And worst of all a few people who had noticed us walking back together have been insinuating things... which makes the whole situation even worse.

Any thoughts about how to proceed? My only thought is to be patient and hope she sees it but I can't help but feel I've messed up any chance of dating her because of chickening out!

If she hasn't read your Facebook message, get her number from a mutual friend and call her or send her a text. Good luck!

You know where she lives go pay her a visit and get some flowers to bring with you. Nothing puts a smile on a woman face that flowers do. Stop being so awkward relax and ask her out for a date. Just make sure she doesn't have mate already.
