J.LO Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 My brother and my stepfather do not get along...is there anyway that i can kinda help so they can try and get along? You see the only reason is is that my dad doesnt like my brother getting along with our stepfather. He manipultes my brother and my brother just listens to my dad which makes it worse. I have my own brain and dont let my dad manipulate me. Then again iam older then my brother too. If you have any advice it is very much appreciated!! Thankyou, jennifer
pearlsasinger Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 I don't have any experience with divorced parents or step siblings but I'll try my best... Sometimes it just takes some time. Until your brother makes the decision that he wants to get along with your stepfather, things may not change so easily. Perhaps he is young and just needs to mature somewhat. (How old is he?) How long has your mother been remarried? What does she say? Could you possibly talk to your dad about this? Tell him that it's important that your brother and stepfather have at least some kind of relationship because it hurts you that they're always fighting. Perhaps then he could talk to your brother and encourage him to get along better with your stepdad. If your dad remarried, wouldn't he want you and your brother to welcome his new wife into your life?
