TobyRichards Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Hello New on here...I have a question...In 2 weeks I am travelling the US. For some reason I´ve always had an attraction to American women. Difficult for me to explain, just do I find them hot,,,, I am originally from London I would like to meet one of them if possible:) I live in Spain now so there aren´t too many over here.... I´ve heard although not sure if it is a myth, American women like English chaps? Why is this, I was told it´s the accent, which sounds odd to me... Sure, there has to me more than it to this, would be great to have a head start though LOL
smackie9 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I think it's the cheerful demeanor and the sense of humor that they like.
amaysngrace Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 It's their boyish charm that does it for me

I´ll steer well clear if I see any of these Lumber people you mention:)... This time I´m headed to Vegas....Can´t wait.. I´m relaxed but would be great to have a couple of dates whilst I´m there. In Spain there are a few American women, every time I hear them I want to talk to them, just never being quite the right situation
smackie9 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Vegas is full of tourists....you will probably run into more Canadians than anything else:p
Author TobyRichards Posted August 19, 2017 Author Posted August 19, 2017 Vegas is full of tourists....you will probably run into more Canadians than anything else:p Tourists are cool.... How are American and Canadian women different? Is it the way they look or their persona? In the UK we think the main difference is attitude maybe a bit more reserved, no?

In the UK we think the main difference is attitude maybe a bit more reserved, no? American women, I've noticed don't have reflections in a mirror. Canadian women will insist you use their correct gender pronouns of "xe, xem". And occasionally want to be referred to as Akknakahnah. I'm just messing about. Women are just women, really. Men are just men. The cultural landscape in which we grow up does have an effect. But prioritizing it too much runs a risk of losing sight of the similarities. I think that's a mistake. Just use your normal cockney charm, and they'll be unable to resist. You've got this

Sure, there has to me more than it to this, would be great to have a head start though LOL as an American woman who's traveled to the UK (Manchester, to be exact and I. Love. Manchester.), my English gentleman friend is the hottest guy I know. Granted, he's in his mid 60's, bald and overweight, but that doesn't deter my interest. It's only the distance that is keeping us from taking things further, but if I could figure out the work visa thing, I'd be over there in a heartbeat. Part of it is the accent; for my "better man", a lot of it is his brain and how he thinks and how much he knows. I'm completely nuts about him. I can say this: When I was walking around Piccadilly Gardens during the lunch hour, I saw so many hot young guys in their finely tailored work clothes and I have got such an appreciation for how you lads dress. The way you blokes wear your clothes... my my my!!! American guys have got nothing on you all. Edited August 19, 2017 by kendahke 2
normal person Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Hello I´ve heard although not sure if it is a myth, American women like English chaps? Why is this, I was told it´s the accent, which sounds odd to me... Tons of American girls really do love an accent though, whether it's English, Irish, Scottish, Aussie, South African, etc. It's pretty well documented. It's familiar enough to be non-threatening, but exotic enough to be exciting. That story line from "Love Actually" wasn't based on nothing, a lot of American girls really are powerless over it. I've never heard an American girl say an English accent wasn't sexy. I read an article about English guys who just visit US universities, make a point for women to hear them speak, and then totally clean up. Keep in mind that in places with a lot of international visitors (New York, LA, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, etc) the accent isn't so uncommon, but if you visit smaller cities you'll for sure turn some heads. Just be prepared for them to not be able to distinguish you from someone Irish, Australian, etc. How are American and Canadian women different? Is it the way they look or their persona? In the UK we think the main difference is attitude maybe a bit more reserved, no? Yes, Canadians have a reputation of being reserved, nicer, and more polite. Americans generally might be a bit boisterous and aggressive but warm and welcoming too. But I'd imagine the differences between American/Canadian individuals are far greater than that between nationalities. Also, it's a big continent with a lot of different cultures. Regardless of nationality, people from Seattle and Vancouver probably have more lifestyle similarities with each other than with people from New York and Toronto respectively, or Texas and Alberta, or Montreal and New Orleans. I feel like part of the Canadian national identity is to be "not American," and correct me if I'm wrong, Canadians -- but at the end of the day, I don't think we're that different.
