We been out in five dates. We were going to go away together for our sixth date on a day trip but everything went haywire with the trains canceling and that failed. So we sort of had a bit of an argument. Now it seems all is back on track but she is drifting. I had to go away for seven days on business. She's not texting as often now and it just seems as though she is slipping away. Oddly she says when I get back she wants to meet my mother, since she's visiting from a far away. We've never kissed. Never anything. It's all confusing to me. What is going on?? Maybe she's found someone else.

Probably nothing is going on. She may be more comfortable, & hence no longer has the need for constant reassurance contact. She wants to meet your mother, whish is usually a sign of escalation.

If you honestly think she blames you for a messed up train schedule then she is not much of a quality person, now is she?

It seems to me that you are reading into things a bit too much this early on in the "dating dance". This is what I refer to as the "limbo period" in a relationship. You've been out a few times, things seem to be clicking and you're into this woman, and small things start to spook you a little bit. It can be easy to get spooked if you've had an argument early on in the relationship.

You really have two options here; either you sit down and talk to her about some things or you see how things pan out. I suggest the second option as a) you probably won't get a straight answer if you push things and b) you risk running her off by being pushy this early in the game.

So, I would just keep in touch with her and see where it goes. Work towards that next date and feel the situation out. I'd call things off with her if she grows more distant as chances are she will either do it for you or you'll be ghosted.

Argument that early on do not sound good.... otherwise things seem fine to me. She's trying to escalate.

I'm in similar stage of dating with a guy, super smitten with him, and he is in my mind ALL.THE.TIME. obviously but I'm trying to stop myself from texting him all the time to avoid smothering haha ... Maybe she thinks the same as me and that's why she decreased contact a bit.

She wants to meet your mother but you haven't even kissed yet. Why haven't you kissed?

This indeed seems rather confusing. The lack of physical contact makes me think there really isn't much chemistry, yet she seems to be pushing the relationship forward anyway. Either you aren't doing a good job leading the Mating Dance or she dates in a way quite atypical to how most women date (most women kiss by the second date if not the first). Maybe both.

What was the argument about?
