In my team, half of the people are married and/or have kids.

The other half are newly grads or about to grad.

I am the odd one out.

The other half used to be just boys so I never joined them for anything, like lunching together. now a girl joined the team and she goes for coffee and lunch with the boys.

last week, the boys asked me to lunch out together. I ate my own lunch and declined.

I feel too embarrassed to eat out with the youngsters. What can we possibly talk about? I admit a boy does attract my attention.

Is it a good idea to eat out with much younger people? if you were me, what would you do?

I hang out with people of all ages and enjoy it! Encouraging you to go hang out with them. Talk with them about whatever they want to talk about. If it's stuff you don't understand, ask questions! People of all ages love to talk about themselves and their interests.

Hanging out with work colleagues of all ages & experience levels improves your interpersonal dynamic with the team as a whole, exposes you to fresh ideas & shows your employer you are a team player.

Hanging out with a 14 year old when you are 28 is probably not the greatest plan but at work, stop isolating yourself.
