I met this guy from Tinder over 3 weeks ago and the date lasted 2 hrs and went well but we haven't been out again yet. At first it was because I went on a trip for a week, then he went on a trip for a few days. But then we finally had a date set for this past Tues. but I never heard from him. And yesterday he texted me saying his phone broke and it's just hard to believe he hasn't had one for 5 days. Do you think he's telling the truth, should I still go out with him?

I'm not buying it, he stood you up.... that has nothing to do with his phone problems. Besides, he could have borrowed a phone to reschedule if he really couldn't make it that day.

 

Unless you didn't exchange numbers and only use Tinder for texting... I guess in that case there might be a chance he's telling the truth, but I doubt it.

Its an excuse. He was probably pursuing another girl and she wasnt into him. He is using you as option #2.

It's possible he's telling the truth. It's improbable but it is possible.

 

I wouldn't risk it but what do you want to do? If you go on another date you need to be vigilant. Another one of these instances is a pattern & you are definitely being played.

I think dating is a very dangerous thing to do. People get sick a lot, the need to travel arises without warning, relatives die suddenly, phones break and cannot be fixed.

I personally don't think the "had no phone for 5 days" story is the truth. Even if it was the truth, if you agreed to go out with him and he let a broken phone stop that from happening, is that who you want to spend time with?
