Ok, so a fortnight ago I met up with a guy (who I'd met once before, for a few hours, in our university days). The meeting was supposedly for careers advice/help (we re-connected through a profession-related website), but he turned it into a date.

Long story short, we had a good night together, I ended up back at his place. He told me to stay in touch and said we should have dinner/coffee the next week. We did meet again, and he helped me with some cover letters for jobs. Since then, he replied to my email a few days ago (we actually haven't exchanged phone numbers), but not to my latest one. I only asked for a follow-up careers tip, since I don't want to be "too keen" and ask him to go for coffee or something...

The thing is, he is a bit of (a self-confessed) workaholic (high flying career), and works most evenings until late and most weekends (except Sunday, when he plays a sport). He told me he'd made an exception when we went out a fortnight ago....

I don't really know how to approach this....Help?

Many self proclaimed work-a-holics work long hours because they have nothing else to do. If he dates you & is serious, most likely he'll make time for you in his life. At least give him a chance. If after a few dates you realize that you come after work, that sport, his buddies & sleep on his priority list, you can bail then.

Thank you for your reply, but he actually does have things to do haha....he's a recently qualified trial lawyer, and the schedule (preparing a case, appearing in court, conferences) is pretty packed!
