Hi LS,

I have been going out with this guy for two months and things seem fine but last night was particularly amusing.

Little background: My guy works as a supervisor/manager at his company and probably makes anywhere between 40,50k and 80k per year.

Last night we were at the local bar and I mentioned that I am going to apply to one of the schools in our city to become CRNA (nurse anesthetist). I explained my reasons and also brought up the fact that they make between 150k and 200k per year (our city probably closer to 200k). OMG, my date nearly had a panic attack. Not because of the numbers or anything but because of the fact that I would be making so much more comparing to him. He actually said something like "geeze, it would be double of what I make (I suspect more than double, but I couldn't care less). He even mentioned he might go back to school himself to get his Master's degree.

Then, I tried to change the subject but he kept bringing it up. He was supportive and actually discussed pro/cons of that school with me, but he obviously didn't like the fact I would be making so much more comparing to him. And I HAVEN'T EVEN APPLIED YET. It is just an idea/plan for now.

I like the guy and everything is cool but it always baffles me how some guys want their women to have a solid career and pay as long as they don't out earn them. :bunny::bunny::bunny:

Maybe... when he said he might get his Master's. But he kept comparing my potential income with his current one. Honestly, I shouldn't be surprised with so many women choosing men who earn more over men with other qualities, or women who expect men to pay for everything while their only job is to look pretty.

True!

I don't think all men are this way, but some definitely are, as you found out. Hopefully it isn't something that would be such a big deal if/when it becomes reality.

My husband would LOVE IT if I made double what he makes....he would quit his job and stay at home to work on his cars lol.

Hopefully not. It doesnt bother me, and as long as he is supportive in other areas and makes decent salary, I couldnt care less.

This guy is obsessed with cars too. He might change his mind once he makes sure I like him enough and he doesn't have to impress me :p:p:p
