The last time I heard, Charles was the one who cheated on Diana.

I never bought the schtick that Diana was a gorgeous woman. She is attractive yes, but hardly a beauty queen. The media praises British Royalty unnecessarily.

Objectively speaking, Diana was an attractive young woman but not exceptionally so.

There is a well known saying in SF. SF is replete with 49ers: women who are 4's but think they are 9's.

So Anthony, what are you able to pull?

I actually agree with your accessment of Diana's looks (she's overrated), but it's fair to say she and Charles are like beauty and the beast in terms of looks and that Charles cheated on and left her for a much more plain looking and older woman, no?

Probably himself!

I'm like you, attracted more men in my 30's.

Also I never got ID'd in the pubs and bottle stores until I was in my 30's, so I'm guessing lots of people had no clue how old I was.

It's an interesting discussion. I've read some about Charles and Diana. It was a loveless relationship by all accounts.

It was essentially an arranged marriage and Diana obviously felt no love for Charles and probably displayed a lot of latent hostility towards him. She became more and more explicit in expressing her disdain, eventually publicly embarrassing the royal crown with very direct criticism through the press.

Charles wanted to be in a relationship with someone who truly did love him and he found someone who did. An older, homelier, but far more affectionate woman.

A younger, more attractive woman who held him in the lowest regard would surely have been a turnoff.

Charles wanting to leave the relationship makes a lot of sense.

I think she's "hot", but not particulary pretty, tbh :-)

Another overrated beauty for sure. She actually looks better now than she did 2 decades ago, likely due to plastic surgery and an unlimited bank account affording her the finest wardrobe, jewelry and makeup.

Oh Oh Owned !!!

Actually, she proved my point perfectly: average/ugly men marying average/ugly women. Billions of dollars did not help them.

Donald Trump has been an alpha male his entire: tall, good looking, intelligent, very wealthy, and very aggressive. Now he is president of the United States.

He has upgraded wives every decade or so and kept his billions. Kudos to him. :-)

He's okay I guess :o

But that hair!

You are joking right? That some beautiful gold digger wouldn't be willing to marry him because he is "nerdy"?!

What about these men? A list of the richest in America... most of their wives are quite "plain". Is that because they were too "nerdy" to get a "hot" wife despite their billions? Or could it be that these successful men value MORE than just a nice body and face on someone they are going to share their life with?

He actually dyes it yellow, lol.

A huge 'F U' to his haters ha ha.

I find it hilarious that people invest so much energy in hating him. Just wasting their lives away in futile anger.

But yes, he is an alpha male. Strong, loud, determined, tall, good looking, proud of his country, pro guns, pro wealth, traditional values (his wives change all the diapers), is a christian, anti abortion, etc.

It's very telling that the women who are getting offended are older (30+), and love nerds. Just a coincidence for sure!

I've only been attracted to very alpha and very "intelligent" (the latter is subjective) men. But I couldn't care less about a guy's looks, as long as he keeps himself clean and healthy.

I love to see doormen and store clerk's stutter when they see my ID.

Just last week had one check my ID before entering a cocktail bar.... He took a long pause then said "ahh, sorry about that, but you look amazing". I know it put a smile on my face, husband didn't look quite as pleased.

I think the OP is losing sight of the fact that there are a lot of factors that contribute to sex appeal.

And that many successful men are also intelligent, and value an intelligent partner... Not just a trophy wife.

So, you have minimum standards.

However, you don't have HIGH standards since you can't attract very good looking men.

1. I mainly refer to scientists not gamers. Some are so good looking

2. I meant the woman can provide financially as well for herself and a dude (regardless of her looks - she can be the more successful one in the couple)

3. I meant men can groom as well to improve looks

But see... our dating criteria are so dirrefernt that it is not worth comparing pools

1. Most engineers and gamers are male, nerdy and average or below on the PAS. There are exceptions, but it is not true for the vast majority.

2. You can provide for a woman financially but this does not translate into physical/sexual attraction. A wealthy average or below average looking man who marries a hot wife has less leverage, has to invest more, and is more likely to be cheated on. Don't ask me how I know.

3. You can dress and groom yourself well, but they can only go so far. You can still tell the difference between, say, Rosie O'Donnell and Miss Universe even if both are dressed and groomed to a 't'.

Financially successful men struggle all the time and often settle for average/ugly women because they are not good looking themselves.

I know hundreds of men like this. They have good careers, some are exceptionally wealthy. But most still struggle even finding a girlfriend, much less a hot girlfriend or wife.

It's because they are not good looking.

I have friends in the military making decent money but are not rich. Most of them have smoking hot wives. Not surprisingly they are good looking.

I would prefer one of his daughters. Preferably both.

I have had 3 boyfriends in my life. 2 out of 3 happen to be very good looking (actually my first bf whom I met in my early 20s happened to be just average looking). But both of them don't have this hangup about their looks, at all. It would have been very off-putting if they were like some high maintenance guys who make a big fuss about their looks :p
