guestfornow Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 I've been involved in an emotinal affair at work for nearly a year. We have gone out a few times, but it has been purely platonic. I found out today he is going to file for a divorce with his wife so he can be with me. I am in shock. I don't know if it's true being I heard this from a third person...but I believe it to be true because lately, he has been asking to spend more alone time with me. We haven't kissed, haven't held hands, nothing romantic...it's been comnpletely cerebral so far. Yet he is taking this drastic step..and I'm not sure what to make of this. I told him I'd never be with a married man...and he is now making himself un-married.
aloneinTX Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 I would get all the facts first directly from him, not a 3rd party. Sometimes people play several when they are only after 1 thing. If his leaving bothers you tell him no more contact Period.
newbby Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 are you feeling pressured because he is leaving? if so, dont. his leaving is his choice, and you do not have to take responsibility for it. otherwise, isnt this good news? does he speak to you about his marriage?

StillHurtin Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 I would make sure you get the facts from the MM and not a 3rd person. Also, make sure you don't get too involved w/o knowing for a fact a D is really want he wants. He may file for a D only to realize he made a mistake and doesn't want the M to end. My H also filed for a D. The OW was a part of the reason why he filed. They had been having an EA for awhile b4 he filed. About 3 months later, after our children and I moved, he came crawling back to me. I loved him enough to give him a second change. He dumped the OW and we got back 2gether. I would be awful for you to think his M is completely over and you two start a life together only for him to go back to his W. GL!
