The 6th of Dog of our family, Tofee left today.

And I can't look at him for the last time.

He was my garden buddy.

He stayed beside mama when she was sick.

He was energetic like the other 5.

He had funny bark.

I love him.

It's too painful. ?

I'm so sorry. There's nothing more gut wrenching than losing a creature who has been nothing but a ray of light its whole life and loved you at your worst. Just be proud that you gave your dog a great life, the most anyone can expect.

Right :( I have lost 2 in the past. This dog particularly has been with since I decided to return home. 1 year old handsome dog. Thank You, Preraph. I tried. I am happy about not regretting anything in his passing.

I am so sorry for your loss. :( Here is what helped me. I took full advantage of this site.

A Poem -

Rainbow Bridge

A place to grieve -

My heart breaks for you. xxxxxx

Wow. I appreciate this, Mercy. I will read it tonight. Hugsssssssss

I, too, am so sorry for your loss :(

I lost my beloved black labrador two and half years ago. I had him from when he was four years old up he passed at the age of 17.

He was my best friend - he still is.

I see "Mercy" has suggested you look up the Rainbow Bridge poem - I found this poem soon after I lost my dog, I printed it - cried loads - and had it laminated and carry it in my bag all the time.

I also purchased a necklace - a silver chain with a heart on, around the edge of which mentions Rainbow Bridge and in the centre I had my dog's name inscribed - it was invaluable for me to wear this day in day out for a long time ... until I became more controlled in my feelings about my dog's passing.

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about my dog .... I had him buried in my garden - that section of the garden is left to grow wild as he used to love walking in long grass! I have various windmills, ornaments, angels fixed to the fence where he is buried .... I quite often stop to talk to him as I walk past this area when I am in my garden.

Some people will say that it is "just a dog" - no, they are part of the family, giving unconditional love.

As I write this I too can feel the tears building up - again - but I console myself on a regular basis that I gave my dog the best life I possibly could.

A few days before I had the vet visit to put my dog to sleep, he turned around from where he was lying down and looked at me very deeply in my eyes - I know he was telling me that it was time for him to go and he was ready - and on the day that our vet turned up at my house to put him to sleep I swear he knew - he wagged his tail briefly at our vet, lay his head down, closed his eyes and waited.

My darling dog is at rest now with no pain - and he is loved as fiercely now as when he was with me.

I wish you well Novz - I really feel your pain - I truly do.

All the best xx

After reading loads of messages about people going through heartache and pain with a relationship break up I cried my eyes out reading your message. I'm so sorry for your loss and don't worry Tofee is still around.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I still sometimes miss my Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Taz.

All you can really do is give them a good life while they are here. And you did that by the sounds of things.

Hi, fellow dogmom, seahorse. Your words although have so much emotions, gave me a good comfort for my loss.

Yes, I feel your tears, too. Virtual hugs to us. Thanks to you and Mercy. I was away for days to mourn.

Right, no more pain. I am sure where they are now is an everlasting peace.

Thank you for your much needed empathy. ❤

After a week of grieving over my Dog Tofee, I received a surprising news.

My cousin's dog Jinky, gave birth to 6 cutiePups!!

And guess who the dad was?

RIGHT!

Our very own Tofee!! My gosh we could tell by the color of the pups! 5 out of 6 are all white with brown shade ( Tofee's) and black (Jinky's) while the 6th one was all black!

Tofee has given us lots of lil Tofees to keep us all happy! weeee!

Thank you all!

P.s. I wish Tofee was around to see his pups. He could've been a prouder dogdad on his climb to the rainbow bridge!
