Guitarisgood Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Long story short; moved into temporary rental as I'm in this new town for work. Turns out she works where I do. We same age, same interests and essentially hit it off. I develop feelings. As she is also an out of towner, we kind of bounce off each other. It's funny, when we're out or simply outside the house, she treats me like a boyfriend. But at home, she keeps me at an arms length. This is driving me up the wall because even with platonic friends, I've always been close enough we never have boundaries. It's a funny relationship; I supported her when she went into surgery (which she loved when I surprised showed up because she had no one around). She's bought me dinner. She even bought me a gift one day as I'd been helping her out with a few things. So whats going on?

Instead of playing along with the "boyfriend outside the house" routine, stop playing into it and when you're out and she's doing this, tell her in front of whomever she's doing this that you're not her boyfriend. Better still--act like it. Cuddle up with another girl... she'll either poop or get off the pot. 1

smackie9 Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Treating you like a BF would mean having sex and making out. Is she doing any of that outside of the house? No, so then she's not treating you like a BF, she is treating you like a friend. Obviously you have a different point of view about that....she actually has boundaries. You are just pissy that she won't sleep with you.
