what are peoples expectations when it comes to dating?

When to have sex?

When to meet friends?

when to go on a weekend trip?

when to buy presents?

on a more precise note what about if the person you are dating it is their birthday after a few weeks. would you expect to be invited?

Have sex when it feels right.

Meet friends when it feels right.

Go on a weekend trip if it feels right.

Buy presents if it feels right.

Guy I am dating had his birthday two weeks into us meeting.

I recorded him a song per request.

I think that did the trick ;)

Different people will have different expectations, or course. These are the results of my experience:

When to have sex?

Third date is common. My experience is between one and five. If it hasn't happened by the fifth date, maybe time to cut your losses.

When to meet friends?

After sex, after you become exclusive, after you've decided it's serious enough to start integrating your lives. Don't allow them to run you through the friend-approval test early on.

when to go on a weekend trip?

As soon as possible after having sex. In my last serious relationships we went to the beach about a month after we started dating, and about two weeks after first sex. It was great! We were a couple at that point.

when to buy presents?

Small gestures fairly early, just to indicate you're thinking about them. Save the expensive gifts for much later. Don't try to buy love.

If a birthday comes up soon, bake her favorite cake from scratch. Man, I'm telling ya... women love that! Get her a card and an inexpensive but thoughtful gift, nicely wrapped.

When it feels right and when things are going great to all those questions. They happen in increments for me - even meeting friends is - they might meet 'some' but not all - depends how things are and if I am happy or still getting to know therefore deciding whether to invest in the man.

For the birthday thing - depends how long we've dated and exactly what the birthday event consists of and whom it consists of.

Why do you ask OP?

When it feels right and when things are going great...

If I did things when I felt like it, I'd be trying to get her panties off before ordering drinks on the fist date about half the time. This would clearly be a mistake, as some women might be offended... so the answer is, when SHE feels like it, or more accurately, just before she realizes that she feels like it.

If you are officially "dating" then all of these things fall when they're meant to...

When I first started dating someone, we had sex about a week into our dating, I already knew her friends, but I'd say within a month we hung out a lot with them, buying presents was only a week into dating because it was Christmas and a weekend trip can be taken anytime.

When you're "dating" I'm not really sure there is a time limit on things like that to be honest. It sort of just comes when it comes. If you worry too much about it, it won't be fun or special when it happens because all you'll be focused on is that it is the right time to do it.

So let me clarify a little.

I can use my previous dating experience.

So what would you guys do?

1) dating a girl for 6 weeks but doesnt invite you to her birthday

2) you buy a girl uv dated for 6 weeks a present?

3) you havnt slept with her for 2 months

4) dating 10 weeks you buy an xmas present?

5) she had her best friends sister engagement party and i was not invited or asked after dating 7 weeks

6) 3 months of dating she do new years with her friends and doewnt invite me

What are your expectations when it comew to these particular situations

When to have sex? When the time is right to have it? I mean there is not rush, I rather get to known her and then fall in love with her also. Should be on the same level.

When to meet friends not right away in time or later on in the two or 3 months. Just too soon to meet then yet.

When to go on a weekend trip? That can happen quickly.. Because that could be used as invite to a second date.

When to buy presents? When the the time is right for those gifts. It might be a few months down the road. I don't like to show off with buying them gifts or flowers.

If their birthday is coming up then you do the best you can to make that day special for her...
