unorthodox way of getting someone out of your system

This may be the dumbest question ever, but here goes...

 

I remember reading The Hotel New Hampshire where there was an incestuous relationship between a brother and sister. They decide to get each other out of their systems by having sex non-stop for an entire day until they are both so sore they can't do it anymore.

 

Is this something that could actually work? Not specifically talking about an incestuous relationship, but in general, could this work between two people who don't want to be together but find themselves drawn to each nevertheless?

Nah, it just sounds like a justification to try and come up with a reason why they should totally have sex.

 

I'd expect that even in fiction it probably mostly wouldn't work and would just be the first step on the way to them actually having a relationship. There's probably tons of fanfiction along those lines where characters bang to "work out the sexual tension" and then end up in love.

 

I suppose if the chemistry really isn't there, if the person's bad in bed, then you might try doing it ONCE and then realising this is a terrible idea and never wanting to do it again. It wouldn't be all day until sore then though.

 

I remember a TV show where two characters who were forbidden love (teacher/student) had been making eyes at each other all season clearly wanting to get it on but resisting because it was forbidden. finally once they gave in and made out, realised they hated the way the other one kissed, and dropped the whole idea and moved on.

That's nonsense. I've done it until I was pretty much numb. I still wanted her, and it seemed to turn her on even more.

No, it would not work. If people want to be together, they will find a way. Spending a lot of time together will not put them off and might have the opposite effect.
