Fresnite Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 So, I'm posting this mostly for my female friend's benefit, it also sparked an interest in me though. So a friend called me this morning, early crying about a guy she was into, after about 2 weeks of heavy consistent texting and meeting twice. Just stopped texting her like towards the evening one day and hasn't replied since for about 3 days in a row. My friend is heart broken and wants to know why someone would be doing good with you, no problems at all and then jyst stop communicating? It made me think, would girls also do that to guys? Like Just stop texting during the middle of day or whatever and never reply again? Or even call? Like why would someone not tell you or let you know it's not going to work out or they are not interested in you?
d0nnivain Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 People of both genders do it all the time. Being forthright & telling somebody else that you don't want to date them is difficult. Most people don't want to be the source of somebody else's pain. So they ghost because what they don't see (the dumpee's pain upon rejection) doesn't hurt them (the dumper).

Ok omg noone should ever ever do this ever. That's never happened to me yet, but I would be in way more pain and suffering if they did the ghost thing to me. Definitely the ghost thing is selfish. But like what the heck if things "seem" to be going good, than they "ghost" I would be thinking something bad happened to them. Would feel so much worse and be stressed and be thinking a thousand questions and what ifs? Is It ok to tell someone that you are seeing that? Like say "Hey if this doesn't work out or you lose interest, please tell me? " Lol i know it sounds mad weak, but still ignoring someone is the worst punishment. The silent treatment should be totally illegal lol. But no for real though, not responding or ignoring is the worst. I will totally let you slap the crap out of me, But at least say something even if its calling me a piece of dung, but in the most common word for it lol.
spiderowl Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 It's not a nice thing to do. Maybe the texting was getting too much for him. Some people find too much texting stressful. However, he could have said something to her. 1
