I've been seeing a guy for about a month. He seems to really like me (I really like him too) and last night we were talking about something and he made the comment "Oh, that wouldn't be too strange because we're dating." Also, he calls me his girl. Should I only focus on him and stop seeing other people? What exactly does dating mean to you? I probably should ask him for clarification.

Yup. You need to ask him for clarification. If you want an exclusive relationship with him you need to stop dating other people. If you are enjoying "playing the field" you need to stop dating him.

Thanks for the response. It's not that I enjoy playing the field it's just that I've been hurt a lot in the past so I've learned to keep my options open if things aren't' totally official. I'm going to stop seeing other people though because I really like him and it doesn't feel right.

Yes, you need for him to declare his intentions as far as you're concerned.

You should have turned to him and said "Oh does this mean we are official?"

If you're not sure you want to be exclusive yet, which is not an unreasonable thing, rather than you asking him, you should express/clarify your desires to him, because it seems like you and he are not moving at the same speed.

It doesn't mean you're exclusive until he brings that up. Or you do, which I don't recommend after only a month. Keep seeing other people until you two decide to have an exclusive agreement.
