Anyone got any stories to share about dating and bad timing?

I still remember my first GF after we became official she had to take a 2 week vacation 2 weeks into our relationship. Those 2 weeks felt like an eternity.

My most recent case? I have a date, er, had a date with a new girl I'm seeing. But she just came down with pink eye. We haven't pushed the date back yet officially, but there's really no way around it, huh?

I'll probably text her later today to say we'll take a rain check. Bummer. Was looking forward to seeing her again and carrying the momentum over from the first meeting.

This wasn't really a date since I knew him since I was a kid but I was supposed to go out of town to lunch but my favorite Aunt passed and her funeral was the same day. I was not able to reschedule I got really sick had to be rushed to the hospital with a possible stroke now I may have cancer. But this guy was acting real odd before I got sick. He was acting all pissed off and not responding to messages like he used to. I don't put up with that kind of nonsense and he was still acting like that weeks later so I'm just thinking I'm done and I'm not even going to try to be his friend if he is that fair weathered. I have better things to do. He is a grown man and he needs to realize people get sick and die all the time. It is life and life is not fair and the world does not revolve around him. Sorry he really hurt my feelings.

Let me tell you about bad timing

Out on a first date in the middle of summer. The night is beautiful and the breeze is warm. I am dressed in a sexy white outfit. My white pants are fitting me like a glove and I feel sexy.

This lady looks at me like something is wrong and it's then I realized my period had started and I was covered in blood!!!

I pulled my big purse in front of me and told my date I GOT TO LEAVE. He's surprised and disappointed but not much he can do. I am making it to my car with him in tow and holding my big purse like it's holding my life!!. At my car he kisses me and says he doesn't understand I need to go so suddenly and the night is young blahblahblah.

I went home and never saw him again lol

Wow, that really sucks. Did you ever try to contact him to let him know you had an emergency or something? A reasonable guy should be very understanding in a situation like that. I know I would be.

When we were saying our good byes at my car he suggested he could follow me home. I knew then he was mainly interested in getting in bed so he was out of my mind even before I had drove out the parking lot. I was more worried about saving my brand new white pants lol

Lol. The same thing happened to me on my first date with my ex husband. I was also wearing a white dress and he saw. How embarrassing!

I ran upstairs to change but he had already saw and didn't speak a word about it until later after we were more established. He said he didn't care but I was mortified.

Pink eye is not contagious after 24 hours of treatment with antibiotic, so you probably could go on a date, but she might not want to because of her puffy eye that probably has goop, and she'll want to look really pretty for her date. Maybe you can talk her into not worrying about it.

I get what you mean on the timing. You don't want to lose that initial momentum, and it can be extremely difficult to wait it out, and it does and can fizzle out in that time frame. It leaves you feeling very insecure.

I've been seeing someone for 2 months now, and he's far busier than me and I feel this momentum issue regularly. We're now approaching the end of the honeymoon phase, and things are settling down, and I'm starting to feel insecure again, as he isn't appearing near as interested as before, but when we're together, everything is great. It's normal for things to slow down a little. It's just hard. We'll see what happens.
