We had been going out a few months but today she said she needed to talk and said she can't date me because I'm socially awkward. I asked her to elaborate but she refused and said it was obvious. Then she left my house. I called her a few times but she won't return my calls. Why?

Odd. You've been dating for a few months and NOW she brings up your social awkwardness? Did something recent happen? An argument while on a date around friends, in public?

Maybe it just took this long for her to realize you weren't going to change as you got more comfortable with her. Some people think that's something that will go away once you know someone, but it's not usually. Some aspect of it will still remain.

It's seriously a really stupid reason to dump somebody.

No, nothing. Then she drops this on me

I can't judge that because I haven't been around you, but I have a friend with a social anxious (and awkward) husband who has had no end of issues with him being unsocial and unfriendly and uncommunicative.

It can be a valid issue. I'm sorry you didn't see it coming. At least she told you why so you don't have to wonder why, or else it would be a complete mystery.

What does your friend do to make him more comfortable socially? Nothing obviously. She obviously has no patience and won't help. But you won't see that because she's your friend and a female.
