I'm a foreign exchange student, i don't know some of the meaning of the english words. The other day a guy was describing my personality and he said that i was a very proper person. What does he meant by "Proper"?

hi annika,

from what i understand, to be described as "proper" means that you are person with good morals, and generally ladylike.

when i have described someone as "proper", it's because they have been someone with a bit of class, someone who doesn't swear, someone who is, like i said, ladylike. i have only ever used the term "proper" when referring to a female.

i think it is a nice compliment to be called proper. a lot of people respect that.

i hope i was able to help you, annika :)
