About the same age difference as Trump and Melania, so...

 

I mean, he's about to maybe be France's leader, so he was probably a really smart kid who didn't find kids his age people he could related to and found her inspiring. Now, why Melania likes Trump is because he's powerful and rich. That seems to be clear enough.

You don't really know that now, she may well love him. Being rich and powerful doesn't preclude someone from being really loved.

Regardless of Macrons marriage with a woman 26 years his senior, and if he's elected, he'll be the younger French President since Napoleon. He's only 39 year old. Very young to lead a country that despite its flaws is still an important ally of America and with Germany the two leading countries in Europe, I wish him well if he wins.

Regardless of Macrons marriage with a woman 26 years his senior, and if he's elected, he'll be the younger French President since Napoleon. He's only 39 year old. Y'all should do some more Googling. Their relationship started when she was his teacher and he was a minor. They met when he was 15, their affair began when he was 16. She was 39, married, and a mother. This isn't some adorable May-December relationship story.

If it's lasted this long it's most likely a loving relationship.

 

Do they have children together, does anyone know?

The thing is after he turned 18, he still chose her, when he could choose any young and beautiful and intelligent woman.

 

and obviously he is an extremely intelligent person, so we can't say and adult seduce an innocent and stupid kid.

 

yup, so their relationship is more interesting and fascinating to me than the election.

 

What secrets this woman has? or what kind of chemistry?

The one French president who died a few years back was laid out in a coffin and in the front row was his wife and mistress.

 

It's not them, it's us. Were more interested in ripping the roofs off of our neighbors house and see what they do in the privacy of their own home, then point a finger at them and brand them for their choices. Like were supposed to go back to the days of Leave It To Beaver and the rest of the 1950's shows. Time for this country to come into the 21st century

It's been this way since Henry VIII actually who chose to break free from the Vatican and form his own religion while remaining an adulterer.

He was 15 when they began "dating". I think it's less about some secret trick or chemistry and more about the psychology of a sexual predator and an abuse victim.

Here in Oz our Defence Minister has a long-term defacto partner who is 16 years her junior. And our first female Prime Minister also had a long-term defacto parnter; a hairdresser four years older than her. And they're just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

 

I do think the US is a bit more prudish about these things than most of the rest of the west.

No, they don't have children together. She already had three of her own (her eldest was his classmate at the Catholic school he was attending and she was teaching at) and she was 40ish when they got together so he said it would have been selfish of him to want children with her. He says he considers her grand-children as his own, and all her kids were very heavily involved during their step-father's campaign, and backed him all the way.

 

A politician's private life isn't a relevant factor for the French voters. I personally don't care about his private life; I just want to know how he is going to deliver on the message of hope and change he has been promising during his campaign.

I think it's different, but transcend politics and also have to do with how French understand love and relationships.

By the way, let's not forget the Hollande Trierweiler-Gayet scandal and Sarkozy-Bruni.

We don't care about politicians private life. They could be married to a goat we wouldn't care. We also don't care who has an affair or not. Sure it will entertain us on top of magazine but we would not request he resigned and we would NEVER in a million years expect him to apologize in public like you do in the US. It's just not our business, it's between the man and his wife.

Alright, turns out the lady comes from a very wealthy family.

 

Now, I wonder if the lady is poor, the story maybe different?

 

Maybe that helps his career?

 

I was naive again...I actually believed there maybe still love and age doesn't really matter.
