reckoner Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Hi all, I want to share a moment with you that has blown me away and leaves me obsessed and confused at the same time. I would greatly appreciate if some of you could share similar stories or give input. A few days ago I was having drinks with friends when I noticed a girl who was making eye contact with me multiple times. After a while I approached her and what happened next is... Hard to explain. I have never experienced anything like this before, at least nothing coming close to this intensity. From the moment we started chatting and I felt nervous, yet calm and not awkward when I was looking for words. I genuinely had the feeling like I met her before and there was some sort of deep understanding which didn't require many words... Intense eye contact (gazing), smiling... It felt like we were two magnets being drawn together and everything else in the background was blurry. We seemed to have a lot of common interests and taste. Besides this, her friend stated multiple times that we had multiple facial similarities. Same big eyes, same smile.. She even made a picture of it just to make sure and called us 'twins'. And I think she was right... Is this what is referred to as 'soulmates'? Did I just meet mine?

Because yes, it's very familiar and we often do find others with similar features attractive. Remember Mick Jagger and Bianca? Just to be on the safe side, I would ask the parents to rule out any actual sibling.... Just because you look alike doesn't mean you are alike or will get along. 2

What did you do? Did you let her go. Most men don't understand when this happens. There isn't a manual on facial gestures in our minds. So we either don't react of just look daze and confused. I hope you didn't do that with this girl. Soul or spiritual mates happens when you know it in your heart but your so new too this. This is your first encounter in the real world and not with someone from online world. Real is a different feeling more direct approach. I hope you didn't blow this..

I'm sorry but where did you base your reply on? It seems you assume a lot.. Especially the "online-world" part makes little sense to me. I have had relationships in the past and know perfectly well how to talk to people. It is just that this person has made some kind of impact on me which I cannot explain clearly.

And I think she was right... : That would actually be a huge turn off for me, since the girl would probably remind me of my sister. I know people are often attracted to others with similar features, but that "twin" comment makes it worse. I have rejected a couple of girls in the past basically for that reason. Yes I am online let's say helper but not a Psychologist, but for many years I help so many in relations as dear abby (I've help couples in the real world with finding the right person to be with and a lot of them in person or phone me good news they're getting married) you said in your first post you had some drinks and there was some eye contact with stranger (girl) So what did you end up doing? I very helpful person I should do more but we all learn from each other. Good profession to get into though. I have a few friends that are Psychologist. So much to offer . I couldn't pursue anything because I was in the middle of a relationship. I always wondered what could have been.....

If this just happened and it came natural and without any sort of nerves/uncomfortable then see where this goes and get to know her before making assumptions about is this the person I could marry and thus look at her with rose colored glasses.

I am a kind hearted guy, attached easily etc, but what happened last week felt completely surreal and I do not know how to describe it better than I tried initially..

Thanks for your reply I do not know what a soulmate is, i had one similar experience about 10 years ago and that turned out into amazing chemistry. I do realize i'm not at all objective, although I know the difference in when i'm just having a crush and having met someone I really had a connection with. The latter is the case here..
