I don't have much dating experience so feel like I could use some pointers on stuff like this.

When the two of us are simply staring at each other and smiling stupidly, not saying anything, is that chemistry? I don't know how to describe the feeling, sort of like there is nothing to say, or nothing needs to be said. So we just stare and smile, infatuated with the other person's attention and interest.

I first experienced this with the first girl I really dated, pretty recently. Now I have experienced it again with someone new who I haven't even met yet, over a video call. It feels strange because I thought it was something really unique to us, and now that she's gone(miss her) and it's happening with someone else, it sort of sucks all the meaning out of it, you know?

I think it might be a product of my personality. Maybe I smile a lot? I don't know. And it triggers that interaction.

Is this sort of non-verbal interaction 'normal', I guess? And is it 'good' that it's happening?

Sure sounds like it! Chemistry for me is when you just click with someone.

It's the feeling "this feels right, I want more of this".

Is it good? No, it's great! And you should feel happy your ex wasn't the only one you felt it with. How sad would it be if it was never to be experienced again?

Understand this isn't love or the start or a RL. But it's a green light to proceed further.

Enjoy!
