He and I (22f) are both university students and we have been seeing each other (I think) for about 2 months. Although he was the one to approach me first and asked me to hang out initially, recently I think that he is losing interest. For the last 2 weeks it seems that if I didn’t text him for dates, he would not go and initiate them himself. Now we are graduating soon and all of our classes were finished, I want to ask him out one more time before we all move away, but I am thinking he might just tell me that he is not interested anymore this time based on his recent behavior. Although I can gauge his level of interest, I still like him very much and the thought of leaving would make me very sad.

My question is it is okay to tell him I really like him if he turns down my get-together request? I am not doing it because I think it would win him back, I want to do it because I just want to let him know that it is the case. Although we have been seeing each other, I have never explicitly said anything like that to him before (neither has him). And I am not too explicit when it comes to expressing how I feel about him (although I have been initiating most of our dates so he should know I am interested in him), and he probably doesn’t know how I really feel. I think for me telling him that would put a closure on things. But I am just wondering, when you guys explicitly turn down a date, if the other person replied and said something like “Actually I really like you and thank you for the good time we spent together, although I know we can’t be together but wish you the best for your life/career!”, is it something you won’t like to see? If it is, is there an acceptable way of telling him I really like him? I know this might be a silly question, but I really don't have much experience with dating...

It's okay to tell him how you feel and get it off your mind. At least you will know and be able to put your mind at rest.

Of course it is. I had an woman I had been seeing, a very pretty doctor reach out after ghosting me several months before.

She basically said she had been thinking about me, and wanted to know if I'd be interested in spending some time together.

I appreciated the maturity of the outreach. It wasn't breadcrumbs, and it was very clear. I did spend additional time with her before she ghosted me a second time. Then I was done.

I'd give you the same advice.

Be safe.

Yeah that's what I hope I could do, hopefully it helps me to stop wondering about him.

Thank you! I think I will go ahead with it and hopefully it puts closure on things for me.
