cybink Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I feel like a total idiot, even asking this question, (its just that I'm in the depths of depression at the moment) but does anyone else read horoscopes? Like I read everyone I can get my hands on, whether its magazines, newspapers, the internet whatever, just looking for some hope and those words "you'll get over the pain, blah blah blah he'll come back. I even rang a psychic this morning but she said I didn't have enough money on my credit card to proceed (thank god because I can't afford it at the moment). I feel so desperate and are grasping onto any bit of hope I can find. I go from being really really angry to really sad back to angry and feel like taking revenge on him somehow, and then I feel sad for feeling like that because of how much I liked him.
mixwell Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 haha you arent alone.. when i was in the 1st stages of my breakup with the ex i always read them. .hoping to see something that said "a loved one will come back " or whatever.. i think its false hope.. Some of them said things that hinted that there could be a chance but on those days nothing happened.. I wouldn't read into them too much. i think astrology is BS and only for entertainment.. I know when you read one that seems to be something good it gives you hope but dont live by it..
AndrewJ Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 i USED to read those things but when i saw that each magazine had a different take on my star sign I got dissilusioned Stop thinking about whoever who hurt you and focus on urself getting happy meet new people. Hope is futile in a magazine
Woggle Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Yes you have lost your mind. No wonder why he left you.

Don't feel like an idiot - they're warm and reassuring words, which is what you need right now. Just don't get them from horoscopes - a very bad way of planning for the future And don't waste money on psychics. Talk to friends instead. And make your own plans for the future.
JS17 Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 ok well your feelings are normal but the fact that you're taking your horoscope seriously is not good. i read mine because every once in a while they're hysterical. like the other night, i went for chinese food and my fortune said "Made in the USA"...ok, not a horoscope but funny none the less. i'm actually chiming in because i read, 'be honest, you're not that into him either' and the best part of the book was at the end when the author's wife writes the closing. she goes through her whole love life and tells of the one guy that she couldn't get past even though he was a dolt. she said she tried everything to help herself feel better including going to a psychic. eventually the psychic said to her, "why are you doing this?" and she started to really question why she was putting herself through this over some guy and it finally hit her that she was being an idiot for running herself ragged over this guy who was so not worth it.

Rosalind Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Originally posted by JS17 i'm actually chiming in because i read, 'be honest, you're not that into him either' huh? wha?...is there a new book out that I'm not aware of? Sounds like a good one.
New_Wife Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I'll save you the money - I can make completely un-psychic predictions now and then. Oh, I feel one coming on now: You will be okay. It's just gonna hurt like mad for a little bit, then fade, then it'll be a learning experience preparing you for better things. Whew. I feel cleansed now. Of course, by phone, I'd have to charge $3.95 a minute.
