kirby96 Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 I went on a first date with a guy I know from one of my college courses yesterday. It went very well; at the end of the date he told me he wanted to see me again and that he thought i was very pretty and someone he could see being with. I was shocked because he was so blunt but i like it that way. I found myself stunned by how much we had in common, and how much fun I had talking to him over dinner. I think he is attractive and a very nice guy, but I don't know if i actually like him. I want to like him, but i get this odd feeling that I'm not ready for a relationship (i have no reason to be, I've never dated anyone and I'm happy in life), its just a feeling I get. How many dates do you think I should go on with him before I can make the assumption that it will work or not. I don't want to waste his time neither my own. (we are going on another date today in 2 hours).:confused:

This would lead me to believe you're looking for a relationship. So now that you've got someone who's interested, what part of a having a relationship makes you dubious? Also, take his words of affection with a grain of salt till you know each other better. Sometimes people under the influence of infatuation can say things which they mean at the time, but don't necessarily have long term value. 3

You're getting to know the person...you don't need to make the decision on if you think it will work or not after the first date, or even the first few dates. 1
