jah526 Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Someone I know has been friends with a coworker for maybe a year or two. They see each other socially outside of work. Recently he brought up the idea of becoming boyfriend/girlfriend and asked her what she thought. She replied, "well, we can work on that." What does this mean?
Scarlett.O'hara Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 It means, "let's see how it goes". Take things slowly.
Jj66 Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Hypothesis: she's attracted and likes him but wants to be dated to make sure of a romantic/physical connection before she agrees to be his girlfriend. 1
dumbass2 Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Are they romantically involved already or just friendly outside of work? I can't see asking someone to be my girlfriend that haven't been romantically dating. I think the better question would have been asking her what she thought about dating each other first.
goldway90 Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 I'm afraid she's going to friendzone him, well i hope not.

She's not ready (or convinced) to commit to that right now. She wants to feel things out and determine whether HE is boyfriend material.
GoldSparkz Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 He's already in the friend zone, but now he wants to progress into a relationship. This will take a lot of work and it sounds like she is at least prepared to work on it, which is a good sign.
Leodan Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 It's definitely an indicator of interest. Like one of the other posts said: take things slowly.
