It's four days away. Having been in this situation, the best you can do is be happy that the cop and former ex was being genuinely kind and wish him well. Now, try to focus on Saturday. Too good looking doesn't mean much. Don't put him on a pedestal because he's handsome, he'll have flaws like everyone.

I'm not putting him on a pedestal. I'm just as attractive as him. Its just that IME, guys that are really hot have an arrogance about them and 10 FWB. Plus they'll kick you to the curb because they have so many options....I'm not like that at all....probably because I'm a woman

I cant help but be skeptical

Haha! We all wish, but there are also very handsome men that are introverts and don't have multiple FWB rotating, and as this thread should have proven, the handsome cop was a married good guy too, not an arrogant douche. :)

I'm arguing a bit now, and not saying anything you don't know already. My suggestion is only for you to try to move on from this deception and see how the weekend goes.

Hahaha :D

Thanks again Shanex :)

I needed this perspective

It would be so nice if he was an introvert like me and valued monogamous relationships...hes on match, which is a paid site so...maybe

He texted me Happy Valentine's Day today and asked me how I was feeling. We chatted for a bit....he seems ok so far but we havent even met yet

He's calling me in a little while

I'm trying so hard to stay open!

Thanks Shanex..I really appreciate your kind words

I do feel like I want to give up

I built up such a huge thing about him in my head and now I just feel...ugh!!!

If this date doesnt goes well on Saturday I'm going to hide my match profile again and crawl into a hole

I know I'm having such a pity party right now and being dramatic, I just have the WORST luck with dating and I'm 30! I'm so tired of this!

What am I doing so wrong that I'm 30 and still single?

And this guy I have a date with on Saturday is very good looking (too good looking) I dont know if I want to get emotions invloved with a guy like that

I will totally regret this post later :(

D,

I think the reason I like your posts so much is because you have such childlike enthusiasm about things. You remind me of how I used to be before getting my heart ripped out and put through the shredder one last time.

Your mild insecurities are adorable and your kindness comes through on your posts. I used to be so much like you. I miss that guy.

I wouldn't worry about finding someone - women like you don't last too long on the market. The right guy will come along before you know it - maybe the Saturday guy maybe someone else.

But don't worry - he'll come along.

Oh man, I wish I had some of that cute shyness about me.. I'm one of those that things tumble out of my mouth before I really think about saying them.

I got pulled over yesterday after work by a really handsome police officer. He told me he pulled me over because I had a brake light out. So, really just a courtesy pull over. He ran all my info, came back to my window with all my stuff, and said to get it fixed in two weeks. We had a small conversation about the recent nice weather, and he winked at me after I said something not too remotely clever.

I then asked him if his phone number was on the ticket. He said, "No, why?" I said, "I ask all cute police officers who pull me over for their number so we can go out sometime." He blushed and said, "I don't think my wife would be ok with that"

DOH! ok have a good night sir. lol

Maybe next time I get pulled over will be the lucky one! :D

In your situation I would have totally been the woman asking him out right on the spot... I miss out on that fantasizing about them for a day or two because I know way too early if I can chase them or not lol

Ugh... I didn't know you got into a car accident. That sucks, I'm sorry. It's so crazy how one minute, everything is normal and you're planning a date, and then the next minute, you're in stitches and casts. Anyways, I'm glad you're okay. And hell yes, bring him cookies!!! (I love cops)

Edit: Oh, he's married. Bummer.
