Situation that I find myself in

Girl that ive know since grade school that ive not really talked to except casual pickup talk at the bar. Nothing to interesting. I really like this girl ever since then and now that we are both back in the same home town after college I want to get to know her more. I know she is single and has been for a few years but I just never made the move into talking to her because I feel that she is too far out of my league (if that is even a thing anymore after high-school?)

I was thinking about sending flowers to her for Valentines day. Is that too weird?

Thanks for the help

Yeah, it would be kind of weird. Far better to cut to the chase and simply ask her out. The worst that can happen is that she'll say "no".

Yup

Also the thing about flowers if a dude wants to make a true impact with a woman, send flowers ON A DAY OTHER THAN VALENTINES DAY!

Just me two cents LOL!

If it was me, I'd rather a guy asked me out. Maybe not on the actual 'St Valentine's Day' as it'd feel like less pressure. Do you see her often in social settings? Is there an opportunity to break the ice with her in person?

Dude come on.......Confidence wins the girl. Be ballzy and ask her out.

Flowers for Valentine's Day when you've never even been out with her. Umm. No. Just no. Unless she has a crush on you, this is doomed to make you look bad. At best you will be the secret admirer who hasn't had the balls to ask her out. At worst, you will be a creepy stalker type.

Ask her out.

Too afraid?

Here's an idea...

We have lots of anti-Valentine's Day events at bars in the area where I live. They are very popular for the single and unattached. If they have them in your area then you have a low risk way to ask her out on Valentine's Day itself.

Ask her if she has Valentine's Day plans. If not then tell her you you were thinking of going to the anti-Valentine's Day event at XYZ. You wanna come with me?

The answer will either be yes that sounds cool or no thank you (or not that night but maybe some other time?). Easy peasy. Plus it's cheaper and more effective than flowers.

Just ask her out.
