if your SO has a porn collection, how much is too much porn?

Posted

"Too much" is entirely subjective - generally determined by how much the person's partner dislikes porn, within reason of course. For some people though... there does reach a point where you sort of have to wonder if its the porn, or the need to obsessively hoard in general. Those would be the people with hundreds and hundreds of tapes, magazines, DVD's etc. Some people are just 'collectors', whether it be porn or tchotkies.

I don't see anything wrong with a reasonable variety. It gets boring watching the same porn over and over.

What sort of collection are you talking about in your post?

One item.

Well, one of my ex boyfriends told me that some time before he met me, he used to have a lot of porn. His was mostly on the computer, but it filled up pretty much the entire hard drive. He spent so much time watching porn that he actually failed out of his first college, because he'd skip class to watch porn.

Another guy I sort of dated was really into porn. I have no idea how much he had, but I'm sure it must have been a lot. He had a very graphic wallpaper on his computer that I had a full view of when I'd come over. I asked him to remove it at least while I was there, because I didn't like looking at it. Instead of respecting my wishes, he tried to make me sit down and look at it to fully appreciate the "beauty". When he'd come over to my apartment, he'd spend a great deal of time on my computer downloading text based porn (maybe because he knew I didn't like the real porn).

Anyway, my point is that if you're okay with porn itself, it's not so much the amount of porn he has as how the guy acts and how he handles the porn. If he's pissing his life away on watching porn, throwing it in your face, or unable to spend even a few minutes on a computer or watching the TV without putting on porn, then it's too much. If he just has it, and it's not a big part of his every day life, then there's probably nothing to worry about.

I think when you backup your porn to cd before backing up your other info that you have too much porn.

A friend of mine used to keep backups of his porn in case of a disk crash
