crrogers Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 I have been dating a person for around 2 months, I am 29 and he is 37. During the beginning stages of dating, he rushed the relationship quite a lot. He tried to sleep with me on the first date (I said "No") and by date number 3 or 4 he started saying he loved me. He seemed very fixated with the fact that I am a physician and even once said "Oh, a doctor" -- kind of weird. He calls me everyday but mainly talks about his day -- he only asks about my day as an aside. Since I am dong my residency, I don't have a lot of time to spend with him, only seeing him one night/week. I noticed that he completely stopped hitting on my over the past 2-3 weeks. One day I asked him if something had changed about me (trying to put the decreased sex drive thing on me) and he got mad SCREAMING there was "more to a relationship than sex" and that he wasn't obligated to have sex w/ me. Further, sex "is something that happens naturally between two people." Well, it's been 4 weeks, and we have seen each other 4-5 times and he has not made a move on me. When I try to initiate stuff with him, he just stops it at the hugging or kissing stage. This isn't normal; is it?

You should know that this is not typical behavior ..3-4 dates he is telling you he loves you. He just wanted to play doctor with you.. Move on and never talk to him again .. Something tells me that you are gonna have a tough time getting rid of him though

Fly is spot on with his comments, but just to add my 2p, I think this guy is incredibly unstable. And like many unstable people, he goes both ways - the love and fascination stuff, now the frigidity. And guess what? He's making it your fault and screaming at you. Find out about previous relationships. I bet he has a history of instability.
Just Passing By Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Hi, just passing by here...I just happened to notice that previous post of yours dated April 12th 2005 http://www.loveshack.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=60562 I guess I was just wondering if you are the same person who said that she did not have anything going for her before..i.e. missing teeth in obvious places, no job, staying at home. All of a sudden you're 6 years older and a physician....? Perhaps he did pick up on that too? Just wondering.

SoftDrink Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 hmmmm....yeah, it sure is hard to skip college and go straight to a residency... maybe you're confusing yourself with the 29 y/o physician in your other post? if you have multiple personalities, it is possible that you're having more sex than you're aware of...
ReluctantRomeo Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Originally posted by SoftDrink if you have multiple personalities, it is possible that you're having more sex than you're aware of... Actually, since *he* was the physician last time, it looks like she's having sex with herself. Rejection in these circumstances must be pretty rough

Merin Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Possible that the roles are reversed... Could be the OP is the person rushing a relationship with a 29 year old medical student.. he isn't all about it and she wonders if thats a normal thing? *Pops some tylenol* Ugh
