ElizabethIII Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 I have a few guys I am talking to on OLD. One told me he was out of work at the moment as he had just been through a very bad divorce and his ex was rich and powerful and crazy and had tried to destroy his career. He said she opposed the divorce and went through 10 hearings which he won all of them and she didnt win anything. but it drained him so much so he is not working. I ignored that and he chased me up and I said it was perhaps inappropriate to send me 5 long texts detailing a blow by blow account of his divroce when we just started talking yesterday and he said I was crazy (insert swear word) like his ex and so I blocked him. Bullet dodged. I have a couple of others. One of whom is really nice. But lives a fair distance from me. He is nice to talk to but he has never asked me out or suggested we meet. Given that he lives far away and hasnt asked me out I stopped replying as I dont see the point. He keeps sending me nothing texts so should I just ask him what he sees happening, what he wants or simply unmatch him. I have a few that are just talking with no ask to meet at all.
Grey40 Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 This is pretty much the norm that I hear from girls about OLD..it's full of either crazy lunatics, unattractive people or nice/attractive people that never seem to want to meet haha. I'm blown away at how many guys use those apps and never try to meet up, what the hell is the point of that? I never understood. They're probably just too scared to ask too soon, which is a mistake. 1
umirano Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 (edited) If I like her profile and first replies I ask within the first 24 hrs for a coffee date. Sometimes they text weird stuff, sound too eager, are trying too hard to be funny, or give on and off replies, those eventually go unanswered. Edit: About half that matched never bothered to reply to the initial contacting. So yeah, OLDing is really unfair and mean, I guess to both gender. Edited January 5, 2017 by umirano
