Kkristine Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 I'm a little embarrassed because my friend last night was pretty drunk and very touchy with me. He tried kissing me, held my hand, rubbed my neck, and jokingly put his face between my chest. He wasn't anymore drunk than he's been on past occasions. Anyways, I'm a little confused now and kind of nervous to see him again. Something like this happened a while back, except the roles were reversed and it was with a different female friend. She wanted to have sex with him, and he declined because he didn't want to ruin their friendship. We haven't been friends for as long as them, but was his attempts at me a sign that he doesn't really respect me or our friendship? He knew me well enough to know that I wouldn't partake in anything because I've only been with one person.

Guys are always horny and wondering that you'd be like -- even when they already absolutely know for sure they don't want you as a girlfriend. I'd chide him about it and say "What was up with YOU last night?" And don't just act like it didn't happen. Give him crap about it and get it out in the open. He'll probably apologize and just say "Sorry, I was Soooo drunk." 2

I have female friends that I wouldn't mind getting with, but I don't push things with them because I don't want to make things awkward and lose a friend.
ExpatInItaly Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 A lot of younger guys are like this when they've had too many drinks. They get horny, and if you're attractive, many will at least try. I wouldn't necessarily interpret it as a sign of disrespect though. I wouldn't over-think it. If it made you uncomfortable, talk to him about it. Let him know it's a boundary not to be crossed. You were within your rights to turn it down, and if he's a decent guy, he will understand why and not attempt it again. 1
