WitlessFool Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Hi all, Was hoping for some insight with my situation. I will be moving to a small town in the US quite soon. I'm from a pretty big city in Europe and have quite an active dating life. My job is taking me away so I'll be there for a while. I'm also ready to start settling down into a serious relationship so this is kind of bad timing. I've never tried online dating but I've had a look at some sites in the area where I'll be. I'm not too familiar with the place ( actually not at all) but I want to make the best of it. It seems that the options are quite limited in my future area. Any advice?
angel.eyes Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Find another job so you don't have to move. If you are set on moving, then figure out how you're going to build your social circle relatively quickly. What are your hobbies and interests?
amaysngrace Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Volunteer in your community. That will allow you to meet new people quickly. 1

I agree that the hobby way is the best. I'm thinking I should try meetup. I've never needed to use it but I hear people have some good experiences with it.
Imported Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Get a cool car you'll enjoy driving long distance or hopefully there are some cool train rides or.......fly to the closest metropolis. Of course if they are close enough, drive. If the train raid is cool and not just a greyhound on rails, take the train, but go ahead and see what other stuff is around you. The town you're going to might be small and limited, but the areas you can hit might provide a lot more options.
LargoLagg Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 How small is small? Your bigger problem might be finding things to do that you're used to doing.

I'm used to driving long distances so that should be fine. I'm hoping that if I find a guy or even friends who are in the next town, for example that they won't mind driving to see me too. I need to read up about the area a bit more and check out the single guy population LOL. Hopefully I'll find some good ones who haven't been snapped up by the local women yet :-) I guess I'm just a bit anxious about it all but I'm ready for something new too.

I've always lived in big cities with all the conveniences but I'm looking forward to a different pace of life. Who knows I might like it and decide I'm a small town girl after all.
