There are only two types of first dates OP. Late night bar/clubbing (10pm-2am) = trying to get laid and possibly getting to know you Everything else = getting to know you and possibly trying to get laid Edited January 1, 2017 by Kempeitai
GemmaUK
I'll play. 1. Weekday evening, drinks (or coffee) only? I don't drink coffee in the evenings (and coffee is the most dull type of date for me) but would go for a quick drink (just an hour or so) if I didn't know him at all to talk and start getting to know one another. 2. Weekday evening, dinner? Too much for date #1 3. Weekend evening drinks (or coffee) only? OK if I have no plans but it could be a while before I am free. See above about the coffee idea. 4. Weekend evening dinner? Way too much for date #1 5. Friday happy hour? I'd rather do that once I know him in case one more drink became one too many for me. 6. Saturday lunch? Good for date #2. Author Logo
I used to take a woman out for a nice dinner on a weekend evening and then the getting laid part comes around date 3 and I would continue to date her. You guys seem to have taken the romance out of it and replaced it with cynicism. What gives?

It sounds like -- based on your descriptions -- that if a man were interested in you he would have a hard time going on a date with you.
