So I met a girl in OLD and we seemed to really hit it off, on Thursday last week we set up a date for this coming Tuesday...so essentially for 4 days later. We exchanged numbers and had some light texting back and forth, mainly her initiating some questions. The date is scheduled for tomorrow, I'm not sure if I should text again or not, I'm afraid she might lose interest if I don't, she's been online today in the dating app, but has not texted me today or anything. hope she doesn't think I'm not interested because of lack of texting or something.

I know the general etiquette seems to be to not text that much at all before meeting and I tend to agree..but where do you draw the line or make exceptions? Do some girls think the guy has low interest when he's not texting?

You call her tonight and confirm the plans for the date. Before the first date, I don't expect a lot of texting. In fact, I'd prefer one quality phone call than a bunch of texting.

Heights of overthinking...

I don't think you should worry. Best to see what she's like in person. There's not much to say yet. I don't know this girl but I know if it was me, I wouldn't be thinking about this too much.

This is why I overthink and worry about this crap

So we did some light texting over the weekend, not too much. She kept asking me questions so she was interested. or at least I thought. I texted her a final text last night around 10, started with kind of playful joke and then said I'll see you tomorrow" (our date planned for tonight). No response. God damnit I'm ready to just give up, this time I really thought I did exactly what I should have. Maybe someone can analyze what went wrong. She's "online" in POF but hasn't responded to my text, now I'm not sure if the date is happening or not, you'd think she would confirm.

Spoke a little too soon, she just confirmed, but man until she actually shows up I won't get my hopes up haha, I've been flaked on so many times that I just never know if it's ever going to happen

The bolded is why you pick up the phone and call her to confirm. And you do it WELL BEFORE 10 PM!!

"I'll see you tomorrow" isn't confirming, IMO. Saying, "Are we still on for dinner tomorrow at 7 pm? I'll pick you up at 6:30. I'm looking forward to meeting you in person." Or something like that.

In your circumstances I liked being text maybe once a day just to touch base but no chit chat during the day. Only something like how's your day? 2-3 texts then a final 'have a good day' that would indicate there would not be any random chit chat.

If a man did not text me at all between making online contact and the actual date I'd love interest pretty fast.

Who do you think you are!!! Lol

Just because you texted someone are they supposed to drop everything and text you back???

So what if she is online on POF... Maybe she uses the app, maybe her laptop is on while she is busy doing something else.

Stop this behavior right now!!!

People will ghost on you after sleeping with you and never even respond to your texts after going on several dates and spending hours with you and you are bothered so much about someone who you are yet to meet even!!

I dont think you are ready to date....

I have a question regarding this..

Similar situation for myself except my date might not happen for another 1.5 weeks. 1.5 weeks is a long time to go without much texting before an actual meet up. What do you do in this situation?
