Does anyone else find this concept completely asinine?

I hear stories all the time about how some guy kept asking a girl out until she gave in and eventually a relationship started and they "fell in love ".

Seriously...why would you do that? I don't want to be with someone I have to beg to be with me to begin with. I'm not getting on my knees(figuratively) for anyone. I like to think I have some self respect, you know?

As far as I can tell, when you do that...you've given all the power to the woman in whatever "relationship " you have going forward. You're basically her lap dog.

I just don't think I owe anyone anything and I don't have to prove myself to anyone.

So women...why play hard to get? Or why be with someone who had to wear you down? Seems kinda depressing honestly...

If you don't like that then don't date those girls. However, I would not characterize persistent men as "lapdogs". I believe it's the opposite wherein any man with that much confidence and persuasive ability has plenty of dating options.

Any guy who begs will never actually get the date... that is unattractive behavior.

Persistent is the polite way of saying begging.

If someone blows me off or says no to a date....that's it. No means no.

Continuing after that seems like sleazy salesman type of behavior in my book. As far as confidence, if you have more options...go after those options then...it makes more sense to spend time with someone who actually WANTS to be with you.
