Grey40 Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Asked a girl out via Instagram, we had some mutual friends but pretty much straight up asked her if she wanted to get some drinks next week after the holiday. This was after about 4-5 messages back and forth just talking about where she lives and what she's up to these days. (I know she just got out of a realionship like 5 months ago or so). She said "yeah I should be available next week" I say, "ok great, what's your number? I'll try and set something up for next week" No response. She's been on Instagram since I've sent it. Bad sign? She was just being polite?

You need to build more of a connection with them before asking them out. If a guy contacted me, made boring small talk, and then immediately asked me out, I wouldn't be keen to meet up. Make some jokes. Be personable. Ask interesting questions. Get a bit of a dialogue going. THEN go in for the kill. 1
