DrReplyInRhymes Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 This is purely hypothetical: You are estranged from your family. Your father died leaving you a sizable inheritance from a life insurance policy. However, unbeknownst to you, all correspondence from your father was intercepted by your mother who has a hatred for your father that knows no bounds. Because of hard times, you were bouncing from address to address and the only known contact address he had was your mothers address. She found someone who looked exactly like you and with your ID, had him cash the life insurance payment, then hired someone to kill you (via poison). The only reason you found out is because that hitman she tried to hire is/was your best friend from years ago. What would you do!?

I would call the hypothetical crimes division of the hypothetical police department and report the hypothetical crime and parties involved and let them do the investigating . . . Author DrReplyInRhymes Posted December 22, 2016 Author Posted December 22, 2016 I would call the hypothetical crimes division of the hypothetical police department and report the hypothetical crime and parties involved and let them do the investigating . . . From a thriller point of view - as in a movie or TV show to keep you hooked, what would you do!?
carhill Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Sting the mother, with the friend's help, for conspiracy to commit murder and murder for hire or similar applicable statute, unwind the insurance/inheritance deal and lien any assets that received benefit of ill-gotten gain not recompensed, then go have a beer. This presumes a young man with long life ahead. Bonus points for visiting her regularly in prison just so she has the opportunity to see your face. Smile. You understand; she couldn't help herself, the hate was too strong. She'll have a lifetime to ponder it and bathe in it. 1

Then throw a few bucks into her canteen once a month because, ya know, she's your mom. 1
Author DrReplyInRhymes Posted December 22, 2016 Author Posted December 22, 2016 Ok, Let's say your mother is an ex CIA operative who has ties to powerful agents across the globe and after the local governments meager attempt at imprisoning her, she's sprung from prison and now has a vendetta against both you and your friend, the hitman.
Mr. Lucky Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Ok, Let's say your mother is an ex CIA operative who has ties to powerful agents across the globe and after the local governments meager attempt at imprisoning her, she's sprung from prison and now has a vendetta against both you and your friend, the hitman. I'd make sure my contractual rights included roles in both the prequel and sequel... Mr. Lucky
