How to deal with the holiday break

I met a great guy at a bar. We really hit it off and spent the entire night talking to (and kissing) each other. I slept over at his place and the next morning he suggested we do something the upcoming week. Problem is, I'm going to be with my family for the holiday (in another city) for the next 3 weeks.

 

There's great chemistry, I really want to get to know him and I think he feels the same. But will the momentum die out by the time I'm back? He texted me the next day to say he had a great time but, is three weeks too long of a break to continue something like this? Should I just wait until I'm back to be worried about anything? (And should I text him first or should he text me...?)

 

Is there a way to keep this going without being needy?

You met and had a great time and you can't do anything about you're holiday break. Go and enjoy. Send him a merry xmas, happy new year text and hopefully that will spark some brief convo on his end as well.

 

I'm in a similar situation, had 2 good dates with a guy but due to the holidays he will be away for a few weeks. He mentioned he wants to get dinner when he gets back.

 

Perhaps, if you suggest doing xyz when you return. If you feel that's too bold for now (or would prefer he initiate that which I would recommend) just send him a few texts during your break, keep it light... don't expect all day texting every day.

Three weeks away after only just meeting is a long time, but you never know. Just see if the communication continues while you are gone.

 

Earlier this year I had met a woman just a couple weeks before going on a 6 week road trip. I made sure to send some texts, made a couple of phone calls, and even sent some post cards. Long story short she was impressed and I was given a "grand" welcome home when I returned.
